Ruskin's Home Page
My large paws make using the keyboard quite tricky, so, I'll let Peter and Tracy do most of my pages. However, I'lll tell you a bit about myself on my home page first. |

I'm a handsome, brave, well behaved, intelligent and helpful Orange-Roan Cocker Spaniel - although Tracy and Peter don't always seem convinced of all these. I'm from Sudbury in South Derbyshire, near Ashbourne, and was born May 1st 2004 (in case you were thinking of a birthday present). |

WALKS. Sometimes I'm OK withs short walks of 5-6 miles but, obviously, you need several of those in a day. The best walks are the ones that go up mountains, across moors, with LAKES and RIVERS and STREAMs and BOGS. Bogs are particularly good since you always get to go in a river afterwards!

I also like BEACHES and SEA and SEAGULLS and DIGGING. Tracy's Mum and Dad live at Morecambe which has all of these - fantastic! The second picture at the top of the page was my first outing at the seaside, in Ireland. Back then I wasn't too sure about the way the sea chased me - but I love it now. |
|
Of course, I would NEVER chase seagulls (if anyone is watching). |

STICKS and TENNIS BALLS (clearly the peak of human achievement). Tennis balls are great because they bounce, roll, float and hide in long grass, |

and when you're bored you can pull the fur off and chew them into tiny pieces.

CHILDREN and DOGS - both are great in moderation.
CATS - well I don't dislike them - they are just VERY STRANGE - sometimes I don't think they're even dogs at all. |

FRAPs (Frenetic Random Activity Periods). Sometimes you just have to run round in circles very fast and roll on the ground with your legs in the air. It works for me -
you should try it!

PUBS, well walking to pubs mainly. Quite often we walk along the canal to the Dog and Partridge at Bridgemont - about 2.5 miles. In summer we might carry on to the Navigation at Buxworth (Buggy), or even the Old Hall in Chinley (about 5 miles and along a RIVER - much better). Generally I get a 'doggy bag' with Kibble (boring), rice sticks (yum), gravy bones (OK), and DOGGY PIZZA (yes!) The best pubs have tables outside or carpets and seats you can get under - for a nice snooze.
Dislikes
STONE floors (especially in pubs), KIBBLE (would you eat it?), HOT rooms, TICKS, and the VETS.
